TRUST & TRANSPARENCY

Editorial Standards

How Newcomly approaches practical information that can affect a newcomer’s money, documents, housing, driving, and everyday decisions.

1. Primary sources first

When a guide depends on a current rule, Newcomly prioritizes the agency, regulator, government department, bank, insurer, or institution responsible for that rule. Official sources are linked so readers can verify important details directly.

2. State-specific rules are labeled

Driving, insurance, housing, and other requirements can vary by state and locality. A California guide should not be presented as a nationwide rule. When the answer varies, Newcomly says so rather than forcing one national answer.

3. Updated dates should mean something

Dates are updated when a guide is materially reviewed or changed. Newcomly does not intentionally change dates simply to make old content appear fresh.

4. Clear authorship and limits

Guides identify the publishing source and link to background about the founder. Newcomly does not claim professional credentials it does not have, and general information is separated from individualized legal, tax, immigration, financial, insurance, housing, or medical advice.

5. AI-assisted workflow

Newcomly may use AI-assisted tools for research organization, drafting, editing, structure, and clarity. AI output is not treated as an authoritative source. Current-rule claims are anchored to cited official or primary sources whenever possible, and readers are encouraged to verify consequential decisions directly with those sources.

6. Corrections

If you find an outdated rule, broken official link, unclear explanation, or factual error, please use the Contact page. Corrections that materially affect a guide should be incorporated into the article rather than hidden.

7. Commercial independence

If Newcomly later uses advertising or affiliate links, those relationships should be disclosed. Commercial relationships should not change the requirement to explain limitations, alternatives, and important eligibility conditions.
